The Norwegian Scout Movement

There are two Guide and Scout organisations in Norway, the YWCA-YMCA Guides and Scouts of Norway (green shirts) and the Norwegian Guide and Scout Association (grey shirts). Norwegian Guides and Scouts participate internationally through the global Guide and Scout organisations WAGGGS and WOSM. The YWCA-YMCA Guides and Scouts of Norway are also members of the YWCA and the YMCA. The two organisations do several projects together.

Scouts of Norway serves about
12,000 members in 300 local units.
Mission: To help young people develop
a Christian faith, and teaches them
to think responsibly, to develop
independence, to be socially
involved, to have international
awareness and to respect the
values of nature.

Scout Association aims to develop its
members to become independent and
responsible citizens through outdoor life, community involvement, international
understanding and personal experience
of the ideals of Scouting.
